I am a gadget girl. I like my toys, especially the ones that feed my mobile photography addiction. I have just about one of everything. Here are some of my favorite goodies:

  • Olloclip -The olloclip is a unique quick-connect lens solution for the iPhone that comes in two sizes, fitted for the 4S/4 or the 5. The system features three lenses — fisheye, wide-angle and macro all in one small package that fits easily in the palm of the hand. The olloclip slides over the iPhone lens ready to use in a few seconds. The downside may be its size as evidence of my Olloclip last seen on our vacation.

My favorite lens is the Macro. You would be amazed at how much detail you can capture with this lens. Try it on paper money or a droplet.

You can also get some fantastic bokeh by removing the macro lens altogether, you do this by simply unscrewing the macro/wideangle focal ring. Becareful not to lose the little lens as you play. The photo below was taken with the olloclip  and edited with the ShakeItPhoto app.

  • Gorillapod from Joby- Oh how I love my bendy Gorillapod. They come in all shapes and sizes and some are even magnetized, I use the basic original that has a tripod mount and works well with most small compact cameras but I prefer to use this with my iPhone so I also have to use a separate mounting accessory.

I have the iTrek Super Mount (see photo below), Joby also makes one called the Grip Tight Mount, both can be used with ANY phone.  Having the phone safely mounted on a tripod you can bend to get into all sorts of positions allowing you to get very creative with your angles. If you are doing a self portrait try the timer feature in Camera+ App, you can set it to take a photo after 5, 15 or 30 seconds. If you have a lamp or fixture hanging above a table try a few down shots the next time you sit down, as seen on Kirstin’s Instagram shots. I hung mine (magnetic) to my chandelier while trying to make a video after reading Holly’s Time Lapse Post.

  • Diffcase – this is a case and a lens mount all in one. If you are a videographer you will want to try this one. It has a shade feature so you can see what you are taping as well as a kickstand in the back for propping and a mount system that works with virtually any tripod or monopod and can be mounted horizontally as well as vertically. Its a rugged case as well and even has a key ring hole. Currently only available for iPhone 4/4S.

In the spirit of the holidays I’m going to give away a Gorilla pod and a DiffCase in black. You may enter by leaving a comment below. Giveaway will include BOTH items. One entry per person please.
