We are all busy. I don’t need to tell you that. In fact, I’ve been trying to break myself of the habit of responding to the question of “How are you?” with “I’m so busy.” It’s just so very trite. Everyone is busy. Along with this busy-ness that we all have (And hello, it’s Christmas Eve for many of us today and I know that “busy” doesn’t even begin to describe the past few weeks. Right?!) comes the reality of leaving the big-girl camera at home. It’s just all too much sometimes to carry the big camera bag along with everything else that is going on. Luckily, that phone of ours in our pocket has a camera. I have been so grateful in many moments that I have a small, easy to handle camera phone to capture parts of my life that otherwise may have fallen by the wayside. Here are just a few from the past two weeks…
By having my phone with me, I was able to easily and quickly capture some really important moments in my life including being with my Tribe sisters, celebrating a big event, and finding some love on a hard day. I was also able to work on self-portraits, a clear theme in my photographic work. Yes, I could have used my big-girl camera for these shots, as well as one of my Polaroids, but being able to use my phone camera allowed me to quickly capture the moment and then be in that moment, rather then continuing to shoot and fool with my dSLR.
How has mobile photography helped you capture moments and stay present in them?
Holly will be announcing all of our giveaway winners tomorrow! And for those celebrating, a very Merry Christmas to you.
