Once Upon A Time…
Once upon a time, there lived a large and diverse group of magical seers. These alchemists had the power to meld reality with the past, the present, and the future. In the service of light, as the exploiters of color and guardians of form, they captured the heart and soul of their times.
Yes, you probably guessed it – I am talking about us. Everyone that is making art from this wonderful medium called photography. Truly, we live in a time that is worthy of a fairy tale; as far as the opportunity we have for making, altering, and sharing images.
All it takes is a little black box full of film or digital wizardry, electronic editing, vision, and the age old urge to create. It’s a fairly simple magical brew!
So, take this day to cherish the moment, the light, and this amazing ability of ours. Compose your shot with care, check your exposure, find a telling f/stop and shutter speed, perfect your focus, and give thanks to the camera gods… for we are truly blessed.

Simply, STUNNING!
Love to hear stunning….thanks, Chandra!
So much texture, color, and light in these images. The black and whites are breathtaking as well. Lovely write-up!
I’m always torn between color and B&W, since I’m a huge color lover. But, photography has its roots in B&W, thus B&W seems to lend a solemn seriousness to any piece. Plus, B&W emphasizes the form so well. Anyway, thanks much for your kind comment!
such wonderfully inspiring words. empowering us with the magic!
Thanks, Cara! We are all so fortunate to have the magic of photography in our lives! Happy clicking to you.

Oh Anna! LOVE this post!!! Thank you so much for being here today and sharing this special kind of “magic” like Jenny said! That frog!!! All those colors! So amazing!
That frog was quite the character. She/he sat tight while I got closer and closer, all the while taking images. Guess she felt that I wouldn’t “see” her if she sat real still 🙂 Thanks for your kind comment, Holly!
Such a variety of beauty. Love your work.
Thanks Susan! So sweet of you to stop by.
Such beautiful work, Anna!
Thanks Lisa!
All so true, Anna, we’re very lucky. All beautiful images here…a few I’ve seen before and pleased to see again.
