This time last year, I was in France. And I’m a bit embarrassed to admit that I *still* haven’t processed all of my photos from that trip. So as I have been reminiscing in my mind about our adventures last summer, I decided to jump back into the trip vicariously through my photographs. Today, let’s wander through L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue in Provence.
L’Isle is known for its water ways, market, and antiques. It’s a lovely small town that gets extremely crowded during the market days. We made two visits there during our week in the south of France.
The water wheels are quite gorgeous in their mossy grandeur. It was fun exploring the town to find all of them scattered throughout.
We had a lovely lunch at the famous Cafe de France.
Then spent some time “window shopping” (sans the windows) throughout the market.
Reminiscing and seeing my photos from just one day of one of my favorite summer trips was a real treat for me. I hope it was for you, too.
Are you heading out on any grand summer trips this year? Or like me, do you still have photos from last year’s trip to go through?

Beautiful images, looks like I have to put this town on my bucket list. My summer vacation have been to Croatia this year, but I try to take at least one weekend trip every month. Bremen, Amsterdam and Luxemburg are lined up so far 🙂
a sweet little taste of your trip.
i’m especially loving the image of your meal…glasses, salads…the hazy background…so dreamy and evocative of your summer wanderings.
Thanks, Michelle. That lunch photo is a Polaroid — my fave!
I have photos from last year and the year before that and the year before that… If life would just stop happening I could catch up! This summer we head out west to San Francisco and Jackson Hole. Soon I’ll have more images to add to my backlog. Love the colors and tones of your images. I would love to visit Provence!
The backlog of processing can get so big! Have fun in SF and Jackson Hole. I’d love to go to JH!
Breath taking! I want to go!
Thanks, Vanessa. I want to go back!!
these give me a good case of wanderlust. beautiful!
Me, too! And I was there 🙂
I’m already dreaming of our trip to France next month and this just takes me one step closer. Thank you so much for sharing your vision of France with us.
Hi Meghan. L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue is one of my favourite places in France. I haven’t been for a few years so seeing your post was such a lovely refresher. I never could resist those coffee pots and some of them still sit on my kitchen shelves. Thank you for the little bit of wonderful time travel!
I love this collection of images Meghan! Stunning! It makes me want to hope on a plane and just go!!! And I have so many pictures I’ve never even looked at from so many of my trips! YIKES! xo
These fantastic photos really have me wanting to return to France:) When I was there earlier it was before digital cameras:)
Stunning! We don’t have any big trips planned this summer but I’m still sorting through film images from our road trip last year.
Yum, what awesome colors. The rusty keys, the enamel teapots! Looks like you had a great time (and are still having a great time remembering the trip!)
No big trips this year…but definitely still have images to wade through from the past 12 months. 🙂
