I’ve been immersed in my ongoing, instant-film, self-portrait project, and so with that has come some disconnection from other foci of my usual photography. Some aspects that have fallen a bit by the wayside include my digital camera and noticing the everyday beauty that surrounds me. Recognizing these forgotten loves, I intentionally shifted my attention in an effort to reconnect with my “big-girl camera” and with the simple pleasures of nature. And wow, I am so grateful to discover what awaited me.

As a lifelong fan of Charlotte’s Web, I can’t resist a spider web…

Spider-Web_rsThe dew on these delicate flowers took my breath away…

White-Flowers_rsLike a dream, I was upon a scene that Monet may have painted…

water-lily_rsAnd when I really paid attention, my eye caught this little lady…

ladybug_rsI’m grateful to have picked up my digital camera again, and am so pleased with the ways it let me see and reconnect with the everyday beauty this Universe gives us. Have you reconnected with any forgotten loves lately? I’d love to see! Please share a link with us in the comments below!
