Have you seen the movie, Being John Malkovich or the movie, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind? Have you ever read the book, Dancing Wu Li Masters? How do we get from one place to another, from one dimension, one space, one thought, one memory to the next? We travel through a portal. What if that door leads you not into just another room, but an entirely new space and time? Perhaps you will start to look at windows, doors, hallways, gates, cracks in the sidewalk- not for what they are, but actually as entrances to another world, another universe, another side, another dimension or an entirely other you…

“Reality is what we take to be true.
What we take to be true is what we believe.
What we believe is based upon our perceptions.
What we perceive depends upon what we look for.
What we look for depends upon what we think.
What we think depends upon what we perceive.
What we perceive determines what we believe.
What we believe determines what we take to be true.
What we take to be true is our reality.”

Powell's Books

Meghan Davidson, Powell’s Books

Last month’s theme of dreams has gone to my head a little bit, but I don’t blame it entirely on that. I have read The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe  and Alice in Wonderland. I am not alone in my ideas here. There might be something hiding beyond a mysterious or more likely, a simple looking threshold. It may not be another world, perhaps it is another dimension. What does your parallel self or life look like?  I recently realized I was shooting images of doors and windows. Today, I invite you into this idea. Join me this month in exploring the many portals around you. Share with us where you think one world ends and another begins.
