Today is Thanksgiving day here in Canada. It’s a slightly smaller holiday here than the one that will take place south of the border next month. There are no pilgrims but there is definitely turkey. And pumpkin pie. Of course, there is also the giving of thanks.

There is so much in my life right now that I am truly grateful for, not least of which is the spectacular autumn weather we’re having right now in my part of the world. I thought I would celebrate this weather, and my favourite time of year with a 4 in 24.

The last 4 in 24 I did for a post was on holiday in New York. I find it so easy when I’m in vacation mode to shoot and create all day long, less so at home in my everyday life. This one, taken with my iPhone shows a perfectly normal (yet perfectly lovely) Saturday at home.

My puppy, Moz, sleeps in his crate at night but on weekend mornings I sometimes bring him into bed for a little lie-in. This photo is kind of a technical mess – low res because of the front-facing camera and all – but I adore it. He usually sleeps under the covers but here he’s resting his head on my elbow like he did when he first came home at 8 weeks.

Saturdays for me are filled with running around – from Pilates class to errands to multi-stop grocery shopping excursions. Today I re-arranged a few errands so that I could take Moz to the park. He had a lovely frolic in the leaves and was quite patient with me as I stopped often to take photos of the fall colours.

Speaking of fall colours. I couldn’t resist snapping a peek into this basket of mini-pumpkins outside the grocery store. I love all the shapes and the different shades of orange.

This photo is a re-creation of one I posted on Instagram a while ago. This is a pretty familiar scene – Moz and I chilling out on the couch under the throw blanket.

I am thankful for this day and for being able to capture it through my lens.
