As we turn the page in our 2013 calendars to November, and the days get shorter and chillier here in the Northern hemisphere where I live, my mind and heart shifts to gratitude. It’s a bit obvious, I know, with the Thanksgiving holiday coming up for those of us who live in the States — and it just having passed for our friends to the north in Canada. And I realize that for many of you in the UK, Europe, and beyond, November isn’t about a Thanksgiving holiday. But I decided to go with gratitude for our November theme because truly, who can’t use a bit more being thankful, expressing appreciation, and sinking in to gratitude? I know that I could always use a shift in my focus, and a turn of my attention to the abundance and good in my life.
I’m grateful for good friends…
I appreciate a yummy breakfast with my with my favorite guy on the planet…
I’m grateful for the unconditional love I both give and receive to my furry baby (and I appreciate his adoration of his favorite ball)…
And sometimes, a simple pop of color on a dreary day boosts my spirits…
So let’s refocus this month. Let’s reflect on those people, those things, those moments that bring us joy in our lives. The big things and the small things. I have this vision of my gratitudes combining with each of your gratitudes, and that this appreciation will keep growing exponentially. How beautiful…

How beautiful, indeed! Thanks Meghan for leading us into this month of capturing and sharing gratitude.
Can’t wait to see your gratitudes, Debra!
These are utterly gorgeous images, Meghan. Looking forward to seeing everyone’s images.
Thanks, Kirstin!
Hi Meghan,
I really like this idea! Your words are so sweet and your photos are just beautiful! I think it is so important to take the time to account for what we are thankful for in life. With this in mind, I actually recently signed up with a website called thankaday.com. Users post statuses of what they are thankful for each day and others can comment and share as well. I think you might really enjoy how easily it is, and you can even share your awesome photos too! I encourage anyone looking to keep a gratitude journal to check it out 🙂
Thank you, Emily. And thanks for the tip on thankaday. I will definitely check it out. 🙂
I love this theme every november! so great to revisit every year 🙂 Thank you for reviving it here on Mortal Muses.
perfect. can’t wait 🙂
Great idea! November is a gloomy and dark month here in germany. I´ve decided to find a lot of beautiful and happy-making things for me this long, dark winter. This theme is just right for this.
Looking forward to capturing gratitude and joy this month. Beautiful images and post, Meghan!
