I don’t know about you, but I’m always better able to envision and understand contrast when I use black and white film or look at black and white photos. Here are a few of my own I’ve been looking forward to sharing, from a hike through Point Defiance with a fellow photog friend, Roland Hale of Roland Hale Photography. I took these on the Minolta Autocord on “Holga” black and white film.
Happy Snapping!

Ethereal and moody. Love the 3rd and 5th farm especially. I feel the same regarding black and white…and then with the lines of the trees…so good!
These are stunning, Cara. It’s so interesting to me how nature, that is full of color, can look so beautiful in black and white.
Haunting and beautiful. I love how black and white can tell so much.
This! I too was struck by how effective the dark parts especially are here – these are so wonderfully atmospheric!
Totally epic! And now I want to travel and shoot just black and white. Again!
