As a wrap up to our month of squares, I felt it only fair and right to share with you the work of one of my favorite photographers to utilize that format. I would hope many of you already follow this giant of talent, but in case you do not, here is your introduction. And if you already do, here are a few of her loveliest images to enjoy again. If you are like me, you could look at these every day and never tire of them.

Jenn Thompson, found here on flickr and here on tumblr (she’s on Instagram too), got her first camera when she was 12. And by the looks of it, she never put it down. Inspired by light and the simple things she sees every day, she was schooled in the darkroom and digital never quite clicked for her. Even when gifted a digital camera, she tried it out but eventually sold it and went back to her film roots. Originally from the San Francisco bay area, she now resides in Portland, Oregon. Though strictly a film shooter, she doesn’t stick with only one camera. Most are medium format, however: Pentacon 6, Hasselblad, a Rolleiflex, and her family of Mamiyas, the 645, C330, and RZ67 pro II. She has a set of Nikons for when she wants to go with 35mm shooting. I’d be most remiss if I didn’t mention that if you enjoy cat portraits, you must follow her work; she has some of the best. Whenever I’m feeling uninspired, I can turn to Jenn’s work for a serious spark. Thank you, Jenn, for allowing me to share your work here.
