I hope you’ll forgive me. As I sit to write today’s post I realize that I have nothing profound to say. No tips, no tricks, no exciting new finds or techniques to share. I, like many of you I’m sure, am rather swamped under the holiday preparations. It’s been all buying, wrapping, mailing and baking around here. So much so that my trip to Paris seems a distant memory, although it was only a few weeks ago. Today (most days, really) I would very much like to return to Paris, if only for a little while and, if you’ll indulge me, I’d like to bring you along. Maybe it will be just the little break from reality that we both need.
I’m fortunate to have spent a good deal of time in Paris but this time was extra special because I got to introduce my favourite girl to my favourite city. I got to share all the things that make Paris so special (to me).
Like the pastries.
And the cafés
The flea market treasures
Travelling by Metro
The park life
This lovely view from the loo
Far-off glimpses of the Eiffel Tower that make my heart leap
And when the City of Light really shows off
I hope you’ve enjoyed this little tour of Paris through my lens, and that it perhaps transported you, if only momentarily, away from the hustle and bustle of your day to this wonderful city.
I’d like to say un gros Merci to all of you, the Mortal Muses community for being such a source of beauty and inspiration. I wish you all the best this holiday season.
As Holly announced yesterday each of the Muses will be hosting a Holiday Giveaway. I’m pleased to be offering a gift certificate for Blurb. As I’ve said I’m a big fan of making photo books and Blurb helps you to make some great ones. Leave a comment below for a chance to win. Kirstin will announce the winners on December 29th.
Good luck and Happy Holidays!

Oh what a lovely walk through Paris this morning, just what I needed! Beautiful pictures, Debra!
I loved taking this tour with you!
I was there at 15, and what an impression it made on my life. I was there again two years ago, and will not be going again. So fun to look at your view amidst the holiday hustle. We are all on overload so this is nice.
I also have fond memories of a trip I took to Paris—many years ago. I plan to return in the next couple of years—–with my son and his family.
Your photos are amazing.
What a lovely trip, and lucky special girl, to have gotten this tour. Feel free to post more Paris photos without tips or commentary any time. They are a delight.
You took me right there, thank you!

I was in Paris so many years ago, the memories are very faded. It’s definitely on my bucket list for a return visit, and your beautiful photographs push it right to the top of my list.
Thank you for sharing your Paris experience. The photos are incredible. Paris seems to hold a lot of special memories for many people. Do you ever get bored of seeing the same things? It seems to be a magical place with so much to see and experience. You have really captured the life and heart of Paris in your photos. Love them!
